U-Afrika uyazi ukuthi ufunani kodwa akalazi igama layo ngesiSotho. Uhlela ukubuza wonke umuntu ahlangana naye igama layo lesiSotho. “Sawubona, Malume,” kubingelela u-Afrika umshayeli wetekisi ngesikhathi ehlala esihlalweni esingaphambili. Endleleni eya emakethe, u-Afrika ubona umshini ohamba ngomoya awuthandayo oluhlaza okwesibhakabhaka epulazini eliseduze bese ewukhomba. “Malume, ngabe ibizwa ngokuthi yini leya nto?” kubuza yena. “Ngabe usho i-windmill, mfana wami?” kubuza umshayeli, ehleka.
“Ngiqonde ukuthi, ibizwa ngokuthi yini ngesiSotho?” kuhlebeza u-Afrika. “I-windmill phela yi-windmill,” kusho umshayeli, ekhuphula umsindo emsakazweni wetekisi. Akuyona-ke le impendulo ebidingwa ngu-Afrika.

“Ke-windy milly,” kusho uMme wa Maduo. U-Afrika akacabangi ukuthi yigama langempela lesiSotho le-windmill, kodwa-ke uyabonga kuMme wa Maduo ngaphambi kokubuyela emndenini wakhe. UMme wa Afrika uhambisa izingane ezitodlwaneni zezithelo. Aze acwebezela bo ama-apula abomvu. “Ngabe niyawathanda yini amaapula?” kubuza uMama. “Cha, ngiyabonga,” kusho u-Afrika.
Endleleni yabo yokuyothenga imifino, babona okuncane, okunsundu okubazwe ngokhuni okungabantu kanye nezilwane. “Mama, bheka uGogo,” kusho uDintle ngesasasa, ekhomba umfanekiso obaziwe wesalukazi. “Ngabe ungawuthanda umfanekiso obaziwe, Afrika?” kubuza uMama. “Cha, ngiyabonga,” kusho u-Afrika, emamatheka enikina ikhanda. U-Afrika uhamba ayokhuluma nowesifazane ohleli eduze nemifanekiso ebaziwe. “Sawubona, Mama, ngabe ungakwazi ukwenza okunye kwalokhu?” kubuza u-Afrika, ekhomba i-windmill enombala omnyama nomhlophe kude nabo. “Ngingenza nanoma yini ngokhuni, mfana wami,” kuphendula yena ngokuziqhenya.
“Yebo!” U-Afrika athi ukucabanga ngalokhu bese edansa kancane. “Ngabe ungangitshela yini ukuthi ibizwa ngokuthini ngesiSotho?” kubuza yena. “Hhayi bandla, izingane zanamhlanje! Imibuzo yazo bakithi,” kwasho owesifazane ngaphandle kokuphendula umbuzo. Ngesikhathi u-Afrika, umama wakhe kanye noDintle beqhubeka nokuhamba emakethe, babona umfana odlala ngemoto eyithoyizi eyenziwe ngamathini. Amasondo enziwe ngezivalo zamabhodlela ezisetshenziswe kabusha. “Ngabe ungayithanda yini imoto eyithoyizi, Afrika?” kubuza uMama. “Cha, ngiyabonga,” kusho u-Afrika. Kusenjalo, u-Afrika ube eseyibona! I-windmill encane ephezu kwetafula, amaphikwana ayo anemibalabala ephendulwa umoya. “Yaze yayinhle,” kusho uMme ku-Afrika, naye ekhangwe ubuhle be-windmill.
“Yilokho impela engikufunayo,” kusho u-Afrika ngesikhathi egijima eqonde etafuleni. “Empeleni, uyazi ukuthi kumele wenzeni,” kusho uMama eza kuye. U-Afrika uyabona ukuthi akakalazi namanje igama le-windmill ngesiSotho. “Dumela, Mme,” u-Afrika ebingelela owesifazane othengisayo. “Mahle wonke amathoyizi akho!” Ngiyabonga! Siwenza ngezinto ezisetshenziswa kabusha,” owesifazane usho lokhu enikeza u-Afrika i-windmill ayibhekile. Kanye nomndeni wakho, yenzani i-windmill eyithoyizi nisebenzisa izinti, iwuli noma intambo, iphepha kanye neglu.
Ngemva kokufunda indaba, xoxani ngokuthi yini eyenzekile endabeni. Bese ephakamisela i-windmill phezu kwekhanda lakhe njengendebe yokunqoba, abuke amaphikwana ayo ephendulwa umoya. “Le bekuyindlela ehlakaniphe kakhulu yokufunda igama elisha, angithi, Dintle!” kusho yena ngenjabulo.
