Join us for a magical evening of live music and lyrical storytelling by acclaimed local duo, Take Cover, of Idol’s fame, and their talented friends Paige Mac, at the Players Café and Bar at The River Club (Lynton Rd, Observatory).
Hosted by MC and comedian, Lunga Tshuka, the evening will be held in support of Nal’ibali and the Sunrise Educare Centre in Vrygrond to assist them in their work of sparking the potential of our children, locally, and across South Africa, through reading and storytelling.
The Sunrise Educare Centre is home to 260-280 children every weekday, from 7am to 5pm. Many of the children cannot afford the fees of R40, but are allowed to attend anyway; most also do not have food for the day, and so the Centre works hard to provide breakfast, lunch and a snack, despite their lack of funding.
We will be taking a collection of books, new or loved, for children between the ages of three and six – your donations will be much appreciated by the teachers and children and Sunrise Educare!
If you cannot attend the event, but would still like to make a donation of books or other supplies (such as nappies, blankets or snacks), please contact Berenice Bougaard at 074 820 2317.
