The Progress in Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS 2021) recently revealed that 81% of South African children in Grade 4 cannot read for meaning. Nal'ibali believes that getting children to start reading at an early age in their mother tongue and getting everyone on board can help in the fight against the literacy crisis in South Africa. The Nal'ibali Limpopo SEF team, which has 198 members, works with ECDs, schools, caregivers, communities and partners to build a culture of reading for enjoyment in Limpopo.
