Keeping the spirit of reading for fun alive in Mpumalanga

The fun of reading aloud does not stop at the end of February!! Read Aloud Month is an excellent opportunity to cultivate a love of reading aloud in your children. Reading aloud encourages interaction and helps learners stay engaged. It allows students to participate actively instead of just listening passively. Our Nal'ibali Mpumalanga team had the pleasure of celebrating Read Aloud Month 2025 with Khonzakahle Primary School and Laerskool Breyten, in Breyten. Educators from both schools shared the positive impact the events had on the learners, parents, and community.

The most notable aspect of the Mpumalanga Nalibali World Read Aloud Day celebrations was that the learners were aware of Nal'ibali's programmes and actively participated in storytelling, reading aloud, and narrative activities. This demonstrates that through a firm foundation and consistency, the seeds of reading culture can be cultivated in our communities.

This is what Ms Jordan from Khonzakahle Primary School and Laerskool Breyten, Breyten, Mpumalanga.
