A Global Literacy Leader Recognised

We are proud to celebrate our Executive Director, Lorato Trok, who was honoured at an event held in Zambia on 29 May 2026, receiving a prestigious award from the Association of Mental Health Reform Organisations in Africa (AMHROA).

Lorato Trok, a globally recognised literacy leader and education policy advocate, has dedicated her career to ensuring that children have access to reading, storytelling and learning opportunities that support both educational development and wellbeing. Her work continues to place literacy at the centre of child development, while also strengthening the link between reading, emotional wellbeing and community resilience.

The recognition highlights her outstanding leadership and the far-reaching impact of her work in advancing literacy, strengthening communities and contributing to improved wellbeing outcomes for children across Africa.

We congratulate Lorato on this well-deserved honour and celebrates her continued leadership in driving meaningful change in the literacy and education sector across the continent
