Clinics can promote reading by providing reading resources and an environment where children can enjoy stories. The Nal'ibali-Lebalelo Water Association Literacy Project, supported by Pelo Le Diatla DIC, transformed the Mmutlane Clinic in Motloulela, Limpopo, into a space for discussions about reading for enjoyment and literacy between parents, governement leaders, children and community based organisations on Mandela Day. Collaboration between the Nalibali- @trevornoahfoundation Literacy Project, Building Bridges, @legends_barber , and Go Green Park made this Mandela Day a special one for the children of Eldorado Park!! 📚🎊🎊 Go Green Park gave us an amazing venue to host our Mandela Day celebrations, while Building Bridges provided meals, and @legends_barber was there to give the children stylish haircuts. Our Nal'ibal-TNF team shared stories and had a read-aloud session before handing over 37 Afrikaans Nal'ibali story anthologies and 260 Nal'ibali reading supplements. The joy of children engaging in story activities showed the true power of collaboration to create great experiences for children. A single, engaging story session can spark a child's interest in reading, especially when paired with positive associations and encouragement. In partnership with the Rustenburg Local Municipality and Trinity, our Nal'ibali North West team brought stories to life through storytelling, puppetry, and reading aloud at Matang a Thuto Crèche in Chaneng.
