The Nal’ibali Limpopo team joined writers, publishers, educators, and readers to celebrate literature in all its forms at the Limpopo Book Fair at the University of Limpopo in Turfloop recently.
As part of the literacy month celebrations, Nal’ibali set up a stall stocked with an engaging selection of books covering a wide range of child-friendly interests at the book fair. Children were invited to browse the collections and immerse themselves in stories at their own pace.
In addition to offering reading materials, Nal’ibali Story Sparkers led a storytelling session during which children’s stories were brought to life through lively storytelling moments. Interactive story readings were also held, allowing young attendees to follow along with story-sparkers while stories were read aloud.
The purpose of these activities was to demonstrate the enjoyable and educational benefits of reading in order to stimulate children’s natural curiosity and love of learning.By participating in literacy-focused events and creating friendly reading spaces, Nal’ibali provides children with opportunities for hands-on engagement with books and language, fostering critical pre-literacy and comprehension abilities from an early age.
