Data Entry Clerk: Story Powered Schools
The Nal’ibali Trust is a national reading-for-enjoyment campaign that seeks to spark and sustain a culture of reading.
The Story Powered Schools project is a three-year, USAID-funded project running from 2016 to 2019 that is supporting 720 schools in the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal to grow a culture of reading in their schools.
The data entry clerk is responsible for performing data entry work. This includes entering, updating and verifying data; and ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of data recorded.
This is a fixed-term contract effective 01 February 2018 till 30 June 2019.
• Enters, updates and verifies data, in Excel spreadsheets and online data management system (Salesforce). • Reviews and verifies data entered into database to ensure accuracy. • Handles monitoring data-related queries as part of a quality assurance process, working with and guided by the M&E team.
• Strong administrative skills. • Meticulous attention to detail. • Independent self-starter – someone who can take initiative in identifying and solving problems. • Strong interpersonal skills.
• Matric certificate with above average grades, especially in English and maths; tertiary qualification preferred. • Strong numeracy and writing skills. • Strong administrative skills. • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills. • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and skilled user of MS Office. • Previous experience using Salesforce CRM system favourable. • Fluency in isiXhosa and/or isiZulu an asset.
This position is based in Margate, KwaZulu-Natal.
