Ngenye imini umakhulu kaZintle wahlala wabukela uZintle esikha iitumato egadini.

‘Yiv’ apha makhulu,’ watsho uZintle enika umakhulu wakhe itumato erawundi ebomvu. “Ndazityala ngokwam!”

‘Enkosi Zintle, unesandla esihle okunene,’ watsho umakhulu.

Wahleka uZintle. ‘Andiboni ngolo hlobo makhulu. Ndasebenzisa iresiphi yokutyala kaLazola.’

‘Ewe,’ watsho umakhulu. ‘Umalume wakho uyazingca ngeresiphi yakhe! Ingaba ndakhe ndakuxelela ngebali lekhaphetshu elikhulu kakhulu likamalume wakho uLazola?’

‘Hayi makhulu,’ waphendula uZintle. ‘Ungandibalisela ke?’

‘Kulungile,’ watsho umakhulu. ‘Ngenye intseni yangoMgqibelo, uMalume uLazola wathenga imbewu yekhaphetshu…’
