Nal’ibali (isiXhosa for “here’s the story”) is a national reading-for-enjoyment campaign. It seeks to spark and embed a culture of reading across South Africa, so that reading, writing, and sharing stories – in all South African languages – is part of everyday life. 
 
Purpose:

This role reports to the Head of Operations to ensure the Nal’ibali office run smoothly. 
 
Description:

Answer incoming phones calls, screen and direct it to relevant staff member.

Greet visitors and direct them to the correct staff members Order, distribute and stationary (documented on electronic inventory) and other office supplies as required. 

Update and maintain internal staff contact list Liaise with building management re parking, light fixtures etc Arrange office consumables (tea, coffee, etc.)

Ensure all Telecommunications fixtures, (eg. Printers) are fully functioning and liaise with service providers as and when required.

Manage Boardroom and meeting room bookings on Outlook calendar Supervise cleaner to ensure office is kept clean and tidy to promote an efficient working environment.

Coordinate and cater for corporate events.

Provide Administrative and Clerical support as required 

Provide backup to the Support Services Supervisor when required

Person spec: 

Friendly and customer service attitude 
Excellent organizational skills 
Attention to detail Ownership 
 
Requirements:

At least three years administrative, reception or clerical experience.

Valid driver’s license and own car
